Christina & Charisse

SCROLL DOWN

Christina & Charisse

Christina is 9 years-old. She lives in the Bronx with her grandmother, Charisse, and her younger brother. Her mother, Melinda, has been incarcerated since 2011.

Now I’m just like calm and waiting. I’ve learned to be patient, which most kids learn how to do. So I don’t feel that sad or angry. Just normal, just waiting...and waiting.

Ebony

Ebony

Ebony lives in Baltimore. She is waiting for her sister, Takia, to be released from prison, which is expected to happen in December 2016. Ebony used to be a correctional  officer at a supermax prison. The sisters haven't seen each  other in nearly a decade.

Waiting for my sister to come home, it’s been the longest process ever. When they said eight years, it seemed like an eternity for me and my kids.

The Davis Family

The Davis Family

James Davis is the fake name Richard Albert gave to the police 45 years ago when he was arrested for attempted murder of a police officer. Now, almost a half-century later, he's been reunited with Camille, a woman who has been in love with him all this time, their son Richie, and many grandchildren.

This is what you call a love story. This love has stood the test of time.
